We have played Normangee twice and split games. One was in the preseason the other during the Franklin tournament. They use two pitchers but primarily rely on #10. Average pitcher with not a lot of strikeouts. She tends to be illegal so if y'all play watch her plant foot. It leaves rubber and completely replants before delivering foot. Some blues call others don't. #1 and #17 are best players and hitters. #1 is a guaranteed steal when she gets on. Old school coach and cries a lot so bring some Kleenex. Overall scrappy team. Don't let them hang around because they can sneak up on you. Our girls are traveling to Evadale tomorrow for a 5pm game with the Lady ReBs. Best player is their pitcher and she has over 200 strikeouts. They come from a weak district so Grapeland will be a good test to see where they are.

One of the best games we have had in a while. Not too much offense. 27 strikeouts between both pitchers and just 4 hits combined, two to each side. Grapeland misplayed two balls and it cost them both runs. Evadale has a very legitimate pitcher and only a sophomore. I see now why she leads all 2A in strikeouts. She has great stuff, a good low to mid rise and one of the best knuckle changes I have seen in a long time. Grapeland Freshman lefty has the best ERA in Class 2A and about 200 strikeouts herself so it was a battle from the start. Grapeland had the tying run at third when the game ended. Very well played game between two solid teams. Evadale is senior heavy with 5 to 6 starters while Grapeland has only 3 Seniors. I hope that both teams learned that their pitchers will keep them in every game but they are going to have to improve at the plate if they stand a chance to make it to Austin.

Evadale could get tested in 2nd round vs. Weimar should they both win bi district match ups.

Yes, I saw that.. Going to be interesting matchup. A one game series benefits Evadale more than Weimer..
