Archer City
Electra
Olney
Petrolia
Quanah
Seymour
Windthorst
Vernon Northside

The only thing I know about this district is Windthorst is good, Archer is usually decent, Seymour will be decent, and Petrolia is usually decent.

Outside of that, I am almost guessing.

Quanah is VASTLY improved, but last year might as well have not existed from what I've heard
Electra has athletes, but I don't think any of them play baseball??
Northside isn't Northside from 7-8 years ago.
Olney seems a little dry right now across the board

Quanah is 5-3, 2 wins against a JV squad, 2 close losses to a 3A

Beat Childress JV A 8-1 and 7-2
Beat Memphis 15-2, 16-5, and 14-1
Lost to Childress Varsity 3-2 and 4-3
Lost to Clarendon 16-5, completely fell apart in that one.

Olney finished 2nd in their district last year, but lost to us in the 1st round. We split with Seymour and lost to AC twice, but Electra found a way to beat us so we finished 3rd. Electra and Petrolia probably battle for 4th this year, but next year Petrolia loses Mataska, who was Pitcher of the year last year and outside of him Petrolia's pitching wasn't good.

AC loses Molini and Kyle after this season, who both made the Texas High School Baseball Region II Top 30 Players list. They also list two other seniors as returning starters. They don't have a JV team this year so who knows what they have coming up.

Think we have 5 seniors on the roster - we go as our hitting goes as we have decent pitching if the defense holds up. Had two bad innings this past weekend (Boyd and Bowie) but the kids throwing I don't think are our main pitchers, but I don't know for a fact just IMO.

Wonder how many kids Childress was missing to basketball?

Was told they were missing just a short stop, and the one they had definitely wasn't bad.

Quanah has 2 solid pitchers that can make games interesting.

I think there needs to be a change.

With these new alignments, most districts now have 7-9 teams with the exception of a couple districts. My thought is: when are they going to expand the playoff with 4 teams from each district? All of classifications get 4. Why not us? Yes there are some not so good districts and then I see some districts that are stacked, where it is possible for maybe a 4th place team out of a district can maybe another knock off 1-seed from another district. I know there is a competition drop off; there is for all districts at a certain point whether it be after the top team or after the 3rd or 4th team in district. I played back when only 2 teams went to the playoffs so I was happy to see it expand to 3 esp after you can go 8-4 in district and still not make playoffs. But when you have a great 3 team race for the last 2 playoff spots, anyone of them teams could make a difference or playoff run. With the districts expanding, (and basketball playoffs still getting 1A and 2A divisions with 3 playoff teams from each district with roughly the same amount of teams playing as baseball) I just think it only makes sense for the playoffs to expand too.

Does anyone feel this way too?

Pretty sure we do have 4 this year, instead of byes. Did I get some bad info?

I just read that we are getting 4 playoff spots this year on the UIL website. Kinda strange that they changed the rule in the middle of a realignment period instead of waiting til next year. Regardless Im glad it happened.
