We lost to Early 18-13 in the Bangs Tournament - not sure what caliber of team Early is but only twice last year did we score that many runs and that team didn't win a game in district.

Not sure what to make on the other side of the scoreboard if the defense was porous or the pitching was that bad. 2/3 of the outfield are still playing basketball also missing our starting SS and catcher.

Saw the box scores of this past weekend's games
beat Hamilton 13-6, had 5-2 lead heading to b5 but gave up 4 to trail 5-6 but came back with 8 in the the 6th
blew a 12-0 lead in the 13-18 Early loss in which we committed 9 errors
beat Early 14-6 on Friday
tied Bangs 8-8 as he gave up 3 runs in the 5th and 6th innings to blow 8-2 lead committed 5 errors in the game
Lost to Jim Ned 1-3 played better defense only 2 errors but didn't hit the ball 3-24

Shiner is off to a nice 4-0 start, beating all 3a teams so far. Our stud pitcher saw his first action of the year, struck out 5 of 6 in his short outing, also went 3-3 with a triple and a double. I saw in the paper where Weimar played Victoria East and the score was 2-1 Victoria, if this is the varsity, wow. It doesn't say JV, but I can't see a big 5A school schedule a 2A school.

5A teams schedule us in volleyball. Archer City put a beat down on a 5A school in softball. Weimar is listed on their (Victoria East) varsity schedule.

Just goes to show our District is gonna be a battle, 3 teams with a legitimate shot at the State Title. Weimar will probably drop in the polls because of the 2 close losses, when in reality, they should jump up!

Just out of curiosity when you go to a tournament, how many games do you play?

I guess depends, if you lose the 1st 2 in some you're done, or you can go up to 4 to win it. This is based off at least an 8 team tourney.

I guess Belcher makes sure we get a game guarantee granted we host two tournaments, but our first tournament we played 5. This past weekend we were scheduled for 6 and this coming weekend we have another 6 (weather permitting).

But I know there were some teams in the tournament that only 3, some played 4. others 5. Guess they (3 host schools) scheduled it to were teams got as many games as they wanted!!!

I know I've never seen us play more than 4 in a tourney, and that was playing for the Championship. 6 games in 2a ball, man, you gotta be hurting for pitching by about Game 4.

Looking at game changer looks like we had 9 kids pitch this weekend. Pretty much it's about pitch count and getting work in and batters seeing quality pitching

Not sure if we will get them in but 8 team tournament supposed to be played between two locations (Windthorst & Archer City) this weekend. 2 teams are scheduled for 6 games, 4 teams scheduled for 5 games, and 2 teams scheduled for 4 games. Teams only play 4 aren't scheduled for Saturday play, while the two teams with 6 games play 2 on Saturday.

Looking at pitch counts for the previous tournament
1 pitcher threw 125 pitches in 4 appearances (29, 6, 75, 15) GC shows he pitched 12 more pitches but I am pretty sure he didn't throw the 3rd inning of the first game so I moved those pitches to the pitcher that did
2 pitchers threw 98-99 pitches in 2 appearances
1 pitcher threw 78 pitches in 2 appearances
3 pitchers threw 40ish pitches in 2 appearances
1 pitcher threw 40ish pitches in 1 appearance
1 pitcher threw 20 pitches in 1 appearance

If I calculated corrected
Teams batted .143 over the weekend against us
Slugged .198
On-Base Percentage .325
Our WHIP was 1.22
ERA 2.72

Caliber of teams played with THSB projection
4A 3rd place team 1-1 tie
3A District Champion 0-5 loss (gave up 5 in the B6)
3A 4th place team 3-2 win
3A 5th place team (my projection based on their projection and the teams in front of them) 6-11 loss (couldn't find the plate and walked 11, 7 in one inning)
3A 6th place team 5-1 win
2A Runner-up 5-2 win
