Aces - very tough district indeed. I believe we entered some of the same meets so it should be fun to watch these guys. Not sure what we (Windthorst) have coming back in track. Our varsity area qualifiers all graduated. We have the JV District hurdle champion moving up to varsity but until Dee Paul and Gary Farquhar graduate, it won't matter. ^:)^

Didn't get to go to the district meet but by the results it was as everyone predicted, FAST. Munday won it followed by Stamford and Albany.
I noticed the 3-A meet that Wylie was in and won and did some comparison

400 relay 1A teams would have been first and second in the 3A meet
100 first and second
800 relay second
400 second
300 H first
200 second and third
Mile relay first and second

Pretty impressive for a bunch of 1A schools that could have done that well in a 3A district meet!

Was able to watch them run in Munday yesterday. Very impressed with all of them. Bumgardner surprised me, much faster than I thought. Hutchinson was amazing. He pulled away from Dee Paul in anchor leg of 800m relay and blew by a fast Weaver (Electra) kid in the 200m. Didn't realize how strong a runner Hutchinson was. Great athlete!

WOW, WindthorstDad. Must have been a hell of a race with Hagen pulling away from Dee Paul. Wouldn't have believed if you hadn't seen it. Wish I had been there to see it also, but I guess the only place to see that was in your head. #1-Dee does not & has not run the 4 X 200. #2 Hagen runs the 2nd leg, not the anchor leg. Love people who just make stuff up to post.
It is very true that this is one tough track district. (played pretty good football in this area also). Cant wait for State to see if this district can sweep the top 3 in Austin. I got Munday 1st, Shiner 2nd, & either Stamford or Albany 3rd.

Easy now; I didn't make it up, just had the kids identified wrong. It was Washington that ran the anchor leg and won the triple jump. Thought he was Hutchinson. Washington looked good that day. Another spectator told me the Munday anchor was Dee Paul and from my vantage point I couldn't tell different. Either way it was a great race between two good teams. Munday dominated the meet overall as expected.

Didn't mean to hurt any feelings out there.

Pretty sure Paul's five events are Sprint Relay (4X100), Mile Relay (4X400), 300H, Long Jump, and Triple Jump.

Sorry guys, I just made an honest mistake. Munday and Stamford did very well and I thought Albany and Haskell represented well too. Other than the wind, it was a fun track meet to watch.
