Still not sure why the poll combines 1A and 2A when they will be in separate playoffs now.

As usual a Windthorst vs Archer City game is always intense. The Wichita Falls Times Record News stated, "Archer City's athleticism at the net against Windthorst's athleticism on the back end was the true battle." The first game was close with AC finally pulling out a 29-27 win. Archer City would then power through the next two games to win the match 3-0. Games were 29-27, 25-17, 25-15. I expect to see a similar intensity when these teams meet again on 10/18.

Another intense rivalry game as #16 Windthorst visited #2 Archer City. A back and forth battle but again Archer City showed it's all-around game and won in straight sets 25-18, 25-15, 25-23 Not sure how the rest of the region looks but it's possible that Archer City and Windthorst may meet for a third straight time in Snyder, TX for the region title and a bid to the state tournament.

In 2A Hawley is ranked 20, Wink 21, Hico 22 behind 2 Archer City and 17 Windthorst in the 10/17 rankings. But rankings don't mean squat and that's why you play the game!!!

Think the 1st round would be Munday, 2nd round is Hico as they have a bye in 1st round with no 4th place team in D7, 3rd round is Miles (beat Hawley 3-1 earlier in the season but isn't ranked), then W3(Post or Plains) or W4 (Sanford-Fritch or West Texas).

lol I've never been one to put much faith in rankings either. Windthorst is playing better than they did early in the season but still plenty left to improve upon. I don't know anything about the region teams you mentioned but my "guess" is someone has to beat Archer City if they want to represent Our region at state this year. Wildcats look good and are very balanced. Having said all this; I'm going out on a limb and picking Lindsay to win state.

Don't know anything about any of the teams in the state - but I would go with Iola just by knowing their history and tradition of always putting a strong defensive team on the floor and being scrappy.

Agree 100% and would be shocked if Archer City is not in the regional final at Snyder this year.

Yes, they took it to us good this year and deserved to win. ^:)^ Archer City is very good and I could see them facing either Iola or Lindsay who are also very good. Of course, I'll hold out hope and pray that my Trojanettes can muster up some magic and make it to state again but they would have to play a perfect game to do so and hope for errors from their opponents. :YMPRAY:

Good luck in the playoffs!
