volleyball playoffs 2013

Postby iola fan » Sat Nov 02, 2013 2:05 pm

It's playoff time. Iola won district so we have a bye in the first round. We played Teague and Giddings in some warmup games and beat both easily! Ready to make a run at state hopefully!

Hey Iola Fan. Windthorst went undefeated in district and also drew a bye. We beat a good Peaster team in three straight games last night for a warm up. Hope we meet you at state again. Good luck!

region IV ...looks like RTC is the team to beat with Harper, Burton, Shiner and Weimar as threats.

Was glad to hear our Archer county neighbors would be joining us. Says a lot for our area programs. You have a good young team and they will only get better. Good Luck!

Windthorst punches their ticket to the State Tournament with their 4th win of the season over Archer City 25-22, 25-18, 25-20. Sounded like a great match, but when it came crunch time at the end of the1st and 3rd sets the Trojanettes got it done.

Congrats windthorst, y'all earned it! Our time is coming. First set was a biggie really thought we get that one we got momentum and may put some pressure on windy. AC was up 21-17 and let it slip. Oh well great run for us, a lot further than many suspected future is bright for girls athletics in AC for a few years. Good Luck at state!

Well Iola season came to an end today. We got swept by Leon 25-20, 25-20, 25-18. Leon is very deep and as good as advertised. I am very proud of the season the Lady Bulldogs had especially my daughter who is a senior. What a run we finished 40-3.

Hey windthorstfan good luck to you guys. Leon is deep and well coached. Their main players are number six and number eleven but they have plenty of other girls that are very good. Their libero digs everything out of the ground. They are the best blocking team I have seen. They are right there with the team that yall had that beat us a few years back. Once again good luck and hopefully yall can pull it out.

Fixin to make the trip to Garland in the morning if the roads ain't iced over. It's 31 right now with drizzle off and on. The game is streamed on the UIL website through Fox Sports Southwest at 9am. If I ain't going I'll be glued to the puter.

The girls were like a different team from yesterday. I think they left everything on the court yesterday in beating Leon. I think they were never intimidated by Leon. Congrats to the Trojanettes for knocking them off their perch.
RTC blocked our hitters better than we did theirs today. I think that was the biggest difference. Congrats Round Top
