Mason High School has a garage sale and other activities Saturday, with proceeds to kids at Refugio. The theme is something like "Rivals on the field, teammates off the field". Pretty much our whole town prays for all those affected, but by name the small schools in the coastal bend.

Mason 7th 12 Comfort 7th 0 Mason 8th 22 Comfort 8th 14 Mason JV 16 Comfort JV 15 These were battles! Eighth grade won on the final drive. JV topped that by going 65 yards on a screen pass on 4th and 5, then completed a pass for 2 to win by one. Great, great games, very well played. JV Purple now 3-0.

Followed Refugio in 2013 some. Rediculous unstoppable offense. If they had 2016 defense to go with it that would have been something. Last 4 games of that season 73 to 72 over Rogers then 40 to 34 over East Bernard then 69 to 33 over Waskom then 36 to 56 loss to Cisco. Point is defense wins but you...

Defense wins championships seems to be fading. Points for and points allowed have gone wayyy up even for teams that win championships. But i do feel game is more exciting with more passing more scoring and not just run game and playing defense. That brand of football CAN be a bore. 2016 state champ...

Most kickers are flakes...but that would be bad for the team, and a lot worse for him. There are other options, but let's hope for the best.

EGT, wise as always - defense wins championships. As to Special Teams, looking good so far. Should be refugio and mason again unless shiner comes up with something. And if mason can defend the pass and can throw the ball they will beat out the bobcats this year. same. Not sure whether Dis 14 getting better or opponents worse. Personally, i think Harper should be much improved along with Sab. Not sure about rest. Was told the mason team much improved on both sides... Not sure about that. They played 14 games last yr ago. They will be better next yr i think....
